Agreed. Nurses are also in your room. Skin to skin does not require effort on their part and should be done automatically because it is good for the mother and the baby. This is not a service provided beyond the standard nursing. (not to say that nurses don't go above and beyond all the time)

Over their lifetime most child bearing women will make less than their male counterparts because in the United States, women in the United States only get 6 weeks of maternity leave... most European country give 10 - 20 weeks. So women have to take unpaid leave.
