This was one of the first posts I saw today. And now I'm seeing it again, near the end of my day. And my day did in fact get better, so that's pretty cool.

I'm really glad it was able to help you.
For me it was hope. If I could understand enough magic, I could use it. If I could use it, I could improve my life. It was the promise that I wasn't alone in the world, and I wasn't powerless. And I was able to find others who understood.

Sorry guys, I use my mom's Netflix.
I do really enjoy the series. You guys could probably watch it during the trial period as long as your lives aren't too busy. The entire series is a little less than 15 hours long.

Some of us have kettles. Some of us just heat up water in the microwave. I've seen people heat up water via coffee pot (they just dont add the coffee, obviously). Heating water isn't hard. We heat water in whatever manner is most convenient and suitable for our kitchen and tea drinking habits. Not all of us have the space for a kettle. Not everyone drinks enough tea for it to make sense to heat that much water. Just makes more sense to only heat a cup.
I really hope that non Americans being concerned over our lack of kettles is a joke. I feel like there are so many more real reasons to be concerned about Americans, and maybe this is one if the things that is done well in America.

I think part of it is that it's a safe, relatively acceptable form of rebellion. You had some options too, you could be dark and edgy or bright and helpful and either way your parents would be disappointed, but not ground you or take away your cell phone disappointed. At least that was definitely part of it for some of the people at my school.
It's not all of it of course. Some of it is a lack of faith in the religion you were brought up in but not wanting to lose faith in something bigger than you. Part of it was the ability to feel powerful, which is not something teenager girls are given great opportunity to feel.
I've heard people say that some teens just want to be "misunderstood" but I think the opposite is actually true. I think a lot of teens feel misunderstood and they are seeking something that they can resonate with that a least some people do understand.
The myriad of Pagan traditions available allow people to have something that fulfills all of these things

The person hiring mulls over his considerations over the weekend, and is leaning towards the man with more job experience, simply because it is the only distinguishing factor.
That weekend he sees of of his candidates out to dinner. It's the man he was leaning towards hiring. That man is out with his boyfriend.
The man in charge of hiring considers this greatly. He has nothing against gay people, but he is concerned that his sexual orientation will mean he will not be too soft. That he will end up costing the company money (they work in insurance) because he accepts claims that should be denied. The other man gets the job.
The first man should sue for discrimination. But he doesn't know. He has no reason to know the man hiring him even knew he was gay. He figured someone more qualified got the position. And he will probably find another job no problem. But that doesn't change the fact that he lost this job from perspective. Not merit.

@vitklim success isn't nessicary based on merit. It's often biased by perspective. Let's move away from gender for a moment. Look at 2 men, both 30, both have master's, both have the same type of job experience, but one has worked said job a year longer. The employer doesn't know what the other guy was doing the year before they started the job. It isn't reflected in his work history. It could have been anything (from backpacking through Europe to selling drugs. Just doesn't know)
So, the guy who has been working there longer has objectively more job experience. You can interview them both though, one guy could be friendlier or whatever. More professional in the way they hold themselves. I get it, interviews matter.
So they both interview. And they both do great. Friendly attitudes, dressed professionally. Both are white men with thin framed glasses and well trimmed facial hair.
Both are great candidates.

Actually most of what's unhealthy in the above picture is an excess of fats. And diabetes is a problem with regulation of blood sugar, which can be affected by eating to much sugar.

You spend 20$ a month on the world's worse phone plan because if your boss can't reach you you'll lose your job.
So, that's all the needs right? And you have 500$ a month left. Great job right?
Well, I said you earn about 1250$ a month, that's not what you take home after taxes. You still need to pay taxes. Also your job is legally required to pay for medical insurance, but not dental or eyecare so if you need either of those, you have to pay for that yourself. Plus co-pays if you do get sick.
Have we talked about transportation? You have to get to work. If the rent is 400$ taking a bus is almost definitely not an option. So now you have a car payment. And insurance, and gas.
It's easy to need more than you can afford. And that's with the best possible budgeting strategies. Which aren't taught in public schools so you can't expect everyone to know them.
And none of this covers if you have any dependents and assumes that you have no disabilities whatsoever.

If you work full time and make minimum wage in the United States, you only earn about $1250 dollars a month. If you can live in a place where rent is cheap, you might pay $400 a month for a studio apartment. (That's on the low end where I live, and the cost of living here is pretty low). Then you have water, electricity, and sewer. Things you have to pay, that's another 100$ easy. I'm assuming your being conservative here. The government believes that $200 a month can cover food. It's not true but hey, if you are willing to rat enough ramen let's say it is true. Let's say you spend 10$ a month on hygiene products. Shampoo, soap, toothpaste, ect. I bet your cheap appartment doesn't have a washer and dryer. Laundry mats are expensive. Let's say you spend 20$ a month there. You bring your own homemade detergent to save money, and hang your damp clothes to save a little.

Except the sign wasn't built due to the entertainment industry. It was built to advertise a segregated real estate community that was being but in the area. It originally read "HOLLYWOODLAND" and was only supposed to stand for a year and a half. However the sign appeared in serval movies and became a cultural icon during that time. So it was left up. Today the sign is protected by a trust. And its trademarked.

The brown bit was at the bottom of her iris, and to the side a bit. So you could only really see it if she was looking up and to the correct side (I don't remember if it was left or right anymore)

Hopefully people won't find themselves overwhelmed. I know that it definitely varies from person to person.
I know that for me, conversations on the subject became much easier after I was able to experience sex in a healthy and positive way. And sometimes sex is still difficult, but conversations aren't anymore.
I also know that isn't the case for everyone.

Yeah, for sure. Rape is a problem no matter who the victim is. And playing gender politics at all definitely redirects for the real issue. And its definitely a problem that when men try to come forward it's often met with people acting like they couldn't have been victims because they are men.
That being said, better mental health services and education wouldn't be a gender centered solution. The idea should be that everyone should be better educated and have better access to metal healthcare. Also, when I suggest we should encourage safe consensual sex I mean for everyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Safe being imperative, no one wants to see more STIs or unwanted pregnancies. But safe is doable so long as people know how to be safe and have access to the resources they need to do so.
Unfortunately doing things like defunding planned parenthood hurts everyone in this regard. Everyone.
It's high time rape stopped being a feminist issue.

@jasonmon is completely right here. The best thing for everyone is if the rape doesn't happen in the first place. Increasing overall access to mental health services would certainly help. So would better implementation of mental health education in schools.
We would also benefit from encouraging the idea that safe consensual sex is a good thing. It's a lot easier to ask people to go to a completely acceptable course of action over a immoral action than it is a morally ambiguous action over a immoral action.
The truth is lots of men and women want more sex than they are having but aren't willing to seek it out for social/moral/religious reasons. And young people especially tend to make under informed sexual decisions due to lack of access to information perpetuated by a culture whose views are sex are complicated.
Obviously I don't think we should push people to have sex if they don't want to. I just think, hey, if you want to have sex, and so do they, just be safe.

Sometimes only a portion of the iris will be a different color. I knew a girl when I was a kid who had one completely brown eye, and one mostly blue eye, but the blue eye also had a small part of it that was brown.
