Yes, platted. And they have to apply another layer of gold annually to keep it looking bright like that. The layers they add are very thin.
So that’s how you get that thing off 18 comments

That is unfortunate. I probably would have brought the receipt into one of the nearby stores and asked if they could help.

If you bought this you can go back to the store you brought it from with your receipt and explained that it was missed. Typically a store with remove it with no hassle.
If you lost your receipt they might still remove it so long as they haven't had any issues with thievery lately. But that's a bit more of a toss up and can certainly have hassle.
It is actually possible to obtain the tool used to remove this things. And it's legal to obtain them, however you are likely that you will fall under suspection for doing so. Its also an expense to obtain them legally, so I'm not sure it's a particularly great option for most.

However the fact that there are more homeless than there are places in shelters for homeless people is still a problem that needs addressing. LA actually has seen deaths of homeless people due to exposure to the elements. In the midwest there is often places a homeless person can seek some shelter. Even if that shelter isn't good enough for our extreme cold. But in LA there are so few measures in place to help that they report more deaths than NYC for deaths of homeless people due to weather. And that's mind boggling.

I just looked it up, the 15 people in Chicago is fake news. Apparently Chicago combated its record cold temperatures with making schools and churches into warming shelters, and allowing far more people into homeless shelters that those shelters actually had proper space for. The result was an overcrowded network of sites where the spread of disease was definitely a problem, but it kept people from freezing to death.

You lived in a world that contains practices that are harmful to it's people and didn't so much as complain about it on Twitter.
Though seriously wider spread information can change elections, and calling your representative can affect policies. It often feels as though citizens in democratic countries don't actually have control over their governments, but citizen's do actually have a voice in at least some of these countries (including the United States). So (especially if you are American, I'm less well informed of the political situations in other countries) if you aren't demanding better policies, you are a part of the problem. A small part, sure. But no single raindrop believes it is responsible for the flood.

It doesn't have nearly enough shelters for the number if homeless people it has. Many cities are like that actually. So even if there might be many empty beds in the summer when living out of a tent isn't so bad, on cold enough nights shelters end up sending people away because they don't have the room.

If you are only interested in the cheapest way to get hammered, I recommend cheap vodka or similar.
If your looking for the cheapest way to get wine drunk, I'm guessing probably boxed wine.
If your looking for the cheapest way to get a bit buzzed without anyone noticing because you haven't had that much, then I recommend mixing cheap vodka and box wine until you find something potent but still sipable. Then pour that into a bottle left over from a more expensive wine. (But not one anyone your drinking with would want a glass of)

@guest @bethorien already pointed out that it isn't rape if the two involved parties are consenting. However, you are completely wrong about assuming you have consent because you two share a bed. I could trust a person completely and be extremely intimate with said person, but no one NO ONE will ever have consent to kiss me while I am asleep. Because it's a trigger. Because I've been kissed when I didn't see it coming and it wasn't consensual and it didn't stay just a kiss.
Now, I agree that kissing someone who is sleeping should be a kind and romantic gesture. And I think a majority of people would probably consent to being kissed, while they are asleep, by their partner who they share a bed with. But not everyone. You can't assume consent.

If their isn't preexisting consent to being kissed while asleep it's still sexual assault. And there actually needs to be consent. It might be awkward, but talk to your partner before doing this kind if thing. Just because your together doesn't mean kisses while sleeping are okay.
If my partner kissed me while I was asleep I would freak the hell out. Right after I'm awake, it's all good, kiss me all you want. But if you kiss me while I'm sleeping you're likely to send me into a panic. I cannot be the only one who feels this way. Please, please, please speak with your partner about what is and isn't okay to do to them before you do it. I know its awkward. I know you do not want to, but it's the best way.

*quietly, to @catfluff* I need you to go, quickly, quietly. Out the back door. Try to stay as out of sight as possible. Once outside, call 911. Tell them exactly what's happened. Keep moving. I'll call you when it's safe.

*put hands sorta halfway up, and moves them up and down slightly* hey, @aviva you dont want to do this. You'll spend years in prison, wrestling with your guilt. I know right now this seems like the only way to handle the situation, but it isn't. Let's put the gun down, we can talk about this.

God I wish I had better art skills. I can picture it. A man with a mullet and a unibrow, wearing a superman costume.
Also: at first I thought it said unicorn so I was envisioning a unicorn with rainbow hair standing magesticly behind you. And I'd still be thrilled to see the unicorn added to your picture to be honest.

This is adorable.
Can we do a series that depicts our usernames? That would be awesome.

... could have formed much closer together than their ancient counterparts. Allowing Aladdin and Jasmine's magic carpet date to take place in real time and not kill them.
Also, it's worth considering that their date probably isn't supposed to be in real time. Assume the scene changes are supposed to represent time passing. It just works better cinematically if they can fit the whole date in the course if a single song.
Also, and this is mostly just a side note: the moon changes phase within the song. Which means either A. They are having there date during a lunar eclipse and just completely ignoring that fact. (And the phase only appears to change.)Or B. That their date not only isn't in real time, but lasts weeks.

So, Aladdin takes place in a dessert with no modern technologies, right? But the Genie makes several references which are relevant around the 1990s. He even knows what a car is, and can reproduce one using magic.
One theory is that the genie lives outside of time. But that doesn't explain how Agrabah could be completely removed from the map(and history). (There is not, and has never been a city by that name.) So, I offer my personal favorite theory, which is that Alladin actually takes place in a distant future, sometime after a major apocalypse wipes out a major amount of technology and human progress. In fact, Alladin specifically takes place a little before the year 12000. Approximately 10,000 years after the references genie makes would be timely. Genie has obviously spent his time in between trapped in the lamp, unable to digest new media and make jokes based on memes.
In this future, its completely realistic that these new civilizations that resemble ancient ones...
