There's a book called Sophie's world which explores a similar idea where the main character is the character of a book meant for an unseen character. It's really inception-y and confused me when I read it

Hahaha, you know spiders aren't the worst thing in australia, fireants have got to be one of the worse. Their sting is the worst thing in the world, my friend got stung by one and needed instant medical attention because the bite could cause an allergic reaction
