The Nicholas Cage in N7 armour made me die a little inside.

They used to do something called 'spiking the hedgehog' at the start of a battle also, which was pretty amazing.
They would tell jokes to each other and help each other tie up their hair, completely ignoring the approaching enemy. Like they didn't give a shit they were about to fight, all leaning on their spears and chewing the fat.
Then at a shout from their commander they would go from fucking about and telling jokes to impenetrable phalanx of spears and shields in 'less than 2 heartbeats'.
Many enemies ran a that point, because they were fucking hard as nails.
