Calm down. There is no hatred inherent within those statements. It is a metaphor. It does not say anything about any of those being right or wrong. If you are happy with your theology (or your metaphysics, philosophy, or science), good for you.

There are several cancer types with similar prevalence. I think breast cancer gets the most attention because early detection is possible with simple procedures, but also because breast cancer is one of the most easily treated with extremely high survival rates (if caught before stage 3). However, a significant portion of breast cancers do not present with detectable lumps, and nearly 90% of breast lumps are not cancerous.

Affirmative Action is still discrimination. It is somewhat like that friend who is an enabler and buys his alcoholic buddy drinks to watch him do stupid stuff; that isn't really what a friend should be doing, because it is "kind of a dick move".

Because, for some reason, a lot of people are argumentative about nearly everything. Also, people get it into their minds that the career they chose is the greatest because it was worthy of their choosing, or something like that.

Or you could sit back and appreciate how ridiculously complex the technology you use on an everyday basis is. And then there is all of the fabulously intricate stuff that you do not use every day.

Did you ask your professor to look at your test? I used to be a TA and we would give students credit for things like that. They can override your score that the computer assigned.

Generally, if the fraction does not convert to a finite number of decimal places, the fraction form is preferred. For instance, 1/8 = 0.125, so either may be fine; however, 1/3 = 0.33333... so the 1/3 is best for most applications. Also, if you are dealing with probabilities, the denominator is sometimes left as the total number of possible outcomes, even if it can be reduced. This is for information density, as it conveys both the probability of a specific outcome occurring and retains the information about how many overall outcomes there are. As an example, the chance of drawing a king from a complete deck of cards is 4/52, which is also 1/13 or .076923... but, by only reporting a reduced fraction or decimal, you lose some information about the total number of cards, as well as the total number of kings.

Ah. It just seemed to me that grammar Nazism is more like nitpicking errors in syntax or diction, typically to the point of being pedantic and annoying. Pointing out that someone picked the incorrect homophone is a courtesy.

Eating fresh produce and good quality meat is absolutely more expensive than eating frozen and canned foods. I can buy a week's worth of the fresh stuff for the same price I can buy a month's worth of the packaged stuff (I do this regularly, and I will spend an hour in the store, comparing pricing by volume or weight). Also, eating fast food is cheaper than going to a real dine-in restaurant (4 items on the value menu = $4.28 with tax; typical lowest priced adult meal at a restaurant $9.99, not including tax or tip). The higher cost of production is part of it, but greed plays a role in everything humans do on a large scale. If you do not believe greed is involved in food pricing, or the distribution of quality food, then you are naive at best.

Except that greedy people will still charge too much for healthy foods, forcing the poor to buy cheap, unhealthy foods. Also, the storage and transport of the produce from this complex would be more difficult to deal with than in traditional systems. It is a cool idea, but I do not see this helping much with world hunger in the near future.

My brother rigged the computer up so that my niece had to answer a certain number of math questions upon log in, as well as after a certain amount of usage time had elapsed. That way, she had to practice math in order to use her computer.

Probably true. Also, pretty much any electronic device has a calculator on it. But, I guess this is just for recreational math, not for practical math.

You bring up a good point. Some people are also entirely too much into sports (watching them). It is alright to be a fan of things, but it is probably a sign of an issue if someone spends more time in things that do not directly impact their lives than in things that do. Instead of actors and athletes getting paid more in a day than most people get paid in their entire year (largely because of excessive fandom), people who actually positively impact society or the world should make more than scarcely over minimum wage.
