trying to be innovative and watching it slowly rip him apart was so fascinating you really felt for him. It stung when rollo betrayed him each time and when his wife left him i constantly prayed they would get back together but whatever and then watching all his friends die it really made you feel for him. And we just dont see that build up put into other characters in the show anymore. Like ivar and the sons just pop in and tbh i dont really feel for any of them. Like oh Sigurd died i guess that sucks not really though.

Like i get it ivar is cool but re watching the first 2 seasons it was cool because it showed a lot of their culture and customs and stuff and that was what made me fall in love with the show. It was like viewing all this viking culture was bad a and watching them raid and stuff that was fun for me. I dont dig the political aspects where they sit there arguing and its gotten too much like game of thrones where its like oh they betray these guys and these guys are betraying these guys and she is sleeping with him and whatnot. Like back when ragnar was tormented by both religions and we saw both of their influences on him that was cool af man. Now its just like fighting all the time. No culture stuff and the fights are weak af like the fight for york where they came out of the sewers and it was like everyone watched them come out of the sewers and get setup before doing anything. Like idk i just dont feel for many of the characters like watching how rangar was forced into power simply for
