On some level I agree with both of them... it's your son so suck it up and go, you're there for him, not the other way around... that being said, that's only since it's 4th to 5th grade, he'll likely remember you not being there. If they were younger (2nd grade and below) I probably wouldn't bother tbh since they'd be too young to be even aware of what was going on, let alone recall the event.

I....just....love that it has this uncanny ability to sneak in extra long ads when I least expect it and am unable to skip them. One day I was washing dishes and a 7 minute ad about gardening came on.
