When I was young my parents took me in to see a doctor because no matter when they put me to bed I'd stay up reading until sometime after midnight. If they took the books away I'd sneak up and find them or do something else, I just wasn't tired. The doctor ran some tests then simply said "Some people don't need as much sleep." To this day I don't go to sleep until one or two in the morning, or later. If I take something to knock me out sooner I don't feel any more awake the next day. But laying awake at night 4am worrying about the next day and important things you have to do and not being able to sleep really sucks.

Yeah, but I like to think that the vast majority of people getting fucked with the stated intention of having a kid are having a good time with it.

I was never any good at recognizing flirting. More than once I've run into people I knew back when and they'd say, "I used to flirt with you all the time!" And I answer, "Oh yeah, that was fun!" But internally I'd be face-palming so heard it's a wonder my head didn't explode.

"Somehow not getting shot" is a noble goal, I frequently desire to not be shot.

There were a number of attractions but most of the good stuff opened later http://www.yesterland.com/dl1955.html
A dollar in 1955 is about $8.60 today, by the end of 1955 the price for an adult had gone up to $2.50, or about $21, and yes, the good rides cost extra. I still remember agonizing over what to use my E ticket on.

You're also alive today because none of you ancestors died before they could have kids. Because that plane your grandmother was on didn't crash, because your great, great, great grandfather didn't catch malaria in Africa that one time, because back in 1467 that one woman did not get trampled by a horse, etc. etc.

Yeah, I was a teen in the 80's... I think there was something in the school water that sent our fashion sense spiraling out of controll. MTV was the triggering agent.
