The dogs expression in the bottom picture totally says, "You're doing the duck-face... I thought we agreed no duck-face."

You're never truly alone with a Pikachu. Though a Totoro would be better.

That's completely in line with a Tolkien Elf, just going along with these mortals, putting up with their shit, thinking about getting back to the forest and singing some songs. Remember Legolas somewhere between 500 and 3000 years old at the time of LotR...
That being said, it completely fits Orlando Blooms carefree attitude too.

Just because you make it an option doesn't excuse you for breaking a common UI element. If I want to minimize it there's a button just to the left of the close button.

Sure you can. Help yourself.
There are plenty so I don't see why you can't have one of your own.

They aren't saying goodbye to them though, they're celebrating another stage of life with them. Pixar is for all ages.

That was a good place to stop. The last book, "Mostly Harmless", was essentially a huge FUCK YOU because Douglas Adams was sick of writing books but couldn't escape his own creation. He intended "So Long and Thanks For All the Fish" to be the last one (it's right there in the title) and provided happy endings for everyone to ride off into the sunset with. When he had to write another one he was pissed and disgruntled. So he *SPOILER ALERT* kills everyone, destroys the Hitchhikers Guide and blows up the Earth throughout all space/time/multiverses, thereby insuring there would be no further books for him to write.
Naturally, after his death, his widowed wife helped someone write another one, called "And Another Thing..." I haven't read it but apparently it claims that the events of "Mostly Harmless" were in an artificial reality. Douglas Adams would be spitting fire from the grave.
