No i get the point, older people tend to have more compromised immune systems and cellular degeneration. Hence why they are old looking and grey. You expose a young healthy body to small amounts of radiation, his body is far more likely to recognise irregularities in those cells and get rid of them, the same doesnt happen to someone already in a weaker state., odds are theyll develop cancer or other health problems well before that 10-15 year mark. It doesnt take away from their sacrifice but that wasnt the point
