Oh no, I'm not upset. I like seeing posts about pits. I just don't like it when biased information is posted because then people go out and get pits thinking they're this perfect animal that can do absolutely no harm, and then don't train them. Then I think we all know what happens.

The way that a pit bull is raised affects its behavior more than almost anything. Pit bull dogs are very high spirited, independent minded animals that need structure and order in their "pack." They are terriers after all. Without structure, the dog follows its own rules, which can get it into trouble.
Pit bulls are not any more submissive than any other type of dog. That "fact" is crap.

I have an issue with this post. Don't get me wrong, I am a major pit bull advocate, but this post is too biased for me to agree with it. While some things are true, some other "facts" here are actually "myths." For example:
Temperament and DNA-
-Loyalty and kindness are bred into dogs DNA. The original breeders of Labradors, for example, of course wanted their dogs to be the best retrievers and best hunting companions. However, they also wanted a dog that would be a good family pet. So not only would they breed the best working dog, but they would breed the friendliest.
-fighting pit bulls are bred to be vicious toward other animals, but EXTREMLY friendly and loyal toward their families. Dog fighters want a dog who will kill an opponent, but won't turn on their handler if the fight needs to be broken up. So fighting pit bulls are bred for their hostility toward other animals, but are some of the most trustworthy dogs when it comes to people.

Thank you for clarifying this. There is a breed called the American Pit Bull Terrier, but the term "pit bull" is given to any dog that is stocky, heavily muscled, broad chested, and square headed. So that means, APBTs, Staffordshire bull terriers, American Staffordshires, Cane Corso, American bulldogs, and many, MANY more breeds are deemed "pit bulls"
