When I asked my anime bad-mouthing "friend" why he hated anime so much (I was less than friendly as it must have been the hundredth time he took a shot at me for watching SAO) he literally said "uhh because all the people at school hate it." That enraged me. Be your own person.

How so? He is saying people do that, not that they do that because the book isn't theirs. There are atheists who understand Christianity.

Thank you, but he was not gathering sticks because he needed them, he was gathering them as a direct challenge to Gods authority.

Meanwhile, Islam commands violence, the holy Bible commands peace and justice. It is not a command, all that stuff about killing men who lay with other men, those were the laws of an earthly nation.

Isaiah 13:16 that was retaliation. None the matter, it is not a command for now. What is a command is you seek a just peace before going to war.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. ~ Yeshua/Jesus; Matthew 5:9, KJV

Exodus 32:27. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel — What Moses now did was not done merely in the heat of a pious zeal, but by a divine influence and direction; and therefore can be no warrant to others to imitate his example, who cannot pretend to the same authority, and who are placed in circumstances entirely different from those in which he and the Israelites were placed. Slay every man his brother, and every man his companion — Moses being, under God, their chief ruler, at God’s command, passed this extraordinary sentence upon the offenders, without the common process in courts of judicature, requiring the sons of Levi to go armed into the camp, and cut off the most notorious and obstinate offenders, without regard to kindred, friendship, or any other distinction whatever. And there was no fear of their killing the innocent in this case, because Moses had called to himself all that were on God’s side.

Give me aminute, I am about to sleep.
Gathering sticks in itself is not wrong. It could be for the purpose of providing a fire for warmth of cooking. The problem is that a man was deliberately and flagrantly gathering sticks in the open on the Sabbath day when God had commanded that no work be done on the Sabbath. This was a direct challenge to God's authority.
(Exodus 31:14)--"Therefore you are to observe the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people."
Apparently, this was the first public offense against the newly revealed law of God. It was, essentially, being tested. Therefore, the severity of the punishment was to demonstrate to all of Israel the necessity of obeying the Law of God.

I would like to see that too. Come on, if you are not going to stand against me, you need to reevaluate your opinion.

There are good muslims, but the book they follow is filled with hate towards all al-fitnah especially jews, I have read that book in one sitting, and it stumped me how all these good people could follow such a book.

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing... but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun(the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)" (Translation is from the Noble Quran) The verse prior to this (190) refers to "fighting for the cause of Allah those who fight you" leading some to believe that the entire passage refers to a defensive war in which Muslims are defending their homes and families. The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, however, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare.

The Quran urges violence, in the Bible however, which includes the Torah it has many verses stating that before war you must seek a just peace, the Jews main greeting means peace. The difference between Muslims and Isis is that Isis follows the Quran.
