Restraining order 14 comments

I'm a bit tired today so initially read this the other way. The restraining order isn't for her protection, it's against her but it's just a piece of paper so get in there and finish the job with this rifle.

Most luxurious mobile home 14 comments

Judging by the silver jacket hanging up this was luxury in 1988. You've only got five seats in the back, if one dude is sitting in the rear seat their head blocks the TV. The two dudes sitting on the back two seats have to lean into the aisle to watch the TV that the dude sitting in the rear seat is partially blocking. The only dude to get a table is the one in the front left but that's because he's the boss as evident from the plastic brown telephone he can use to talk to the driver. But don't worry about the table, everyone gets a cup holder (except the dude who's sitting backwards blocking the TV). Good job they've got a toilet because they've got two bottles of wine (to share between five people), a single serving coffee maker, a mini-fridge and an ugly microwave oven. I don't know if the microwave oven has something inside to stop the contents spilling when taking a sharp corner but if it does spill it's only going to dribble onto the white carpet, so no problem.

Fun fact: Robin was based on the Errol Flynn version of Robin Hood from The Adventures of Robin Hood 1938 - hence the costume and name. Robin Hood didn't have any super powers either.

Willie Smith Ward, the guy who was sentenced to 50 years for stealing some ribs wasn't sentenced for 50 years for stealing some ribs ... he was sentenced to 50 years for stealing some ribs, threatening the store worker who caught him and for having multiple previous convictions for burglary, assault, attempted robbery and possession. He'll be up for parole in twelve and a half years. Never stop questioning politicians who start wars but please I beg you don't make people like this an example for your cause. When they become the focus they're too easy dismiss making the original argument easy to dismiss too.

He's looking at his last reflection. I suppose we all get to do this near our own end whether we know it's the last time we'll look at our face in the mirror or not. I wonder what my last reflection will look like? I hope Hunan was thinking "Looking sharp. As always."

No one is illegal 20 comments

Under the UNHCR - The 1951 Refugee Convention refugees/asylum seekers are a separate issue to illegal immigrants. Most often illegal immigrants move to seek economic benefits in a new country rather than to escape persecution and in the public consciousness the two groups can be confused. This is often to the detriment of the geniune asylum seekers.

Jacuzzi Suit 11 comments

These aren't real because the suit is sealed to stop the water leaking out and a jacuzzi is all about pumping air bubbles into the water. Those air bubbles have got no where to go so the suit would just blow up and pop like a water balloon. - The Dull But Honest Answer

Christmas Day was originally a mid winter celebration that was co-opted into the Christian calendar because of it's wide popularity. So if you drop the Christian aspects of it and just go with the drinking and eating too much you're totally going back to the day's original yule roots.

What? It was just a character she played? Holy sh*t! All that time the credits were lying to us telling us that she was playing herself. Oh wait, they weren't. She's a young adult that's grown up in the public spotlight, the only person she's trying to convince isn't the character she played is herself.

"Stop" is actually the new film starring Will Smith and Billy Unger. Not really, I'm joking. It'd star Will Smith and Jaden Smith.

I'm probably not in the best mood today so I'm probably having a humor failure but this isn't jerking around some faceless corporation but someone who's just trying to pay the bills and put food on the table, someone who scrubs toilets for a living. Wasting their time for a laugh seems a little bit mean.

What if the spring has been snipped? What if there are tiny nails holding the pegs open? What if the pegs are actually really, really good drawings of pegs?

I have to watch this again with my kids now. My six year old asks on the plan to wait until Pooh Bear loses weight "Why don't they just dig him out?" to which I have to reply "Because they always do the stupidest thing possible, always, forever." And then she paused and said, "I don't think I can watch this anymore."

I am disturbed by the amount of time I spent pondering on how the pegs were held open.

Turns up at party. "Hey, great costume!". "What?". Looks down at sixteen year old T-shirt that's been put on just because. "Is this party themed then?"

Fun Fact: Being Australian Chris Hemsworth does the same (slightly not quite right) RP accent (neutral British accent) playing Thor that fellow Australian Heath Ledger did in "A Knights Tale". (Maybe that's only a fun fact for me).

If he's going to have a moan he should be telling this to his son rather than his grandson. His grandson looks like he's still at school and I don't know that many school kids that have invented fancy ray guns, hover cars and built cities on the moon.
