And that is why followers of these religions believe we are born into sin, as you will inevitably sin throughout that life. It is the activities that lead to sins that should be avoided, not life itself. Life itself is a gift, not a sin. Your life is not a sin. You are not a sin. What you cannot control about you is not a sin. What you consciously do that is detrimental to your life, and the actions taken against oneself are sins. That is how I understand it, anyway. I’m not religious.

I should upload an essay I wrote in college—“Mortality Salience and the Changes in Behavior of Individuals”—it talks about everything we as a species utilize for fear/anxiety management, as well as highlighting ‘immortalization’ of oneself/group (worldview). To keep interest, I will give you a small paraphrase: black police are more likely to make a quicker decision to shoot someone of their own race, compared to making a decision to shoot someone that is white. That’s how deep the stigma has been imbedded. I also have a high frequency of citations for anyone to view. I will attempt to find the file, and upload it to my dropbox at some point, if anyone is interested. If you’re worried about quality, I had received an A+ grade for the paper; one of two that the professor has ever given out. Inb4 weird flex, but ok.

Agreed, this is bargain-bin feminism, as it requires no thought whatsoever. Just hate all men, with no actual plan to make things better. Straight bitching, no resolution.

@this_isntme You are acting snarky. If you can’t understand why people don’t want to engage in debate with you, then maybe you aren’t giving an “intelligent response” as you say. Reform your behavior, then come back and rebut without the sarcasm and superiority. If you wish to teach in this world, you will have to let go of that unnecessary pride you wear.

I don’t get how people can draw the conclusion that if you’re from segregation era or prior, you’re automatically racist. Many people in America hadn’t even owned slaves, and were actively against it...
