I think men and women have way more in common than they have differences :) but we can't pretend they're the same as each other. Apples and oranges, you know?

We can have equal rights, like you can treat your both your children fairly and with respect. BUT. maybe you don't have the same rules for them because they're different people and they'll never be the same as each other. So maybe you have rules that apply to both of them, like no running in the house, no eating desert without, do your homework when they come home, so they'll both grow up to be safe, healthy, productive people. But, maybe you let the older one stay up a little later, like half an hour later, because they help you with the dishes, while the younger one has to go to bed earlier because they can't help do chores yet.

I was only using a couple of examples (I don't go to bible school and I'm not super religious or anything) but I have a LOT of super religious people at my school and I've overheard some really sexist guys saying stuff like how women should now submit because we still owe men for what Eve did, etc. and stuff like that. I'm not saying all Christian guys think like that I'm just saying what I've heard

Do you know why it's okay for a woman to hit a man and not the other way around? Because when a woman hits a man it's usually in self defense. By and large. Vast majority of the time. When a man hits a woman it's because he's abusing her. Vast majority of the time.

I think, as I've mentioned before, that guys and girls both have it tough, in different ways, though. Like guys do usually do all that stuff, and work, but girls have periods and work as well, raising kids. Guys have it rough because they work with asshole and have a lousy boss and whatever, and girls have to raise children which requires you to work around the clock. Both aren't easier, neither is harder, but they are difficult in different ways. I just think it's too easy to look over at the other gender and think: "wow! Guys have it easy! They don't have to worry about periods or makeup or boobs and they don't have all this drama like I do!" Or "I always have to go get the spider, and I have to provide for my family! Girls have it so much easier!" But really, life hates everyone equally and we all have our problems.

I give anyone an ok to defend themselves, regardless of gender. Women just get attacked by men more often than men get attacked by women.

See I think that women hit men more in self defense (or bite men in self defense) which is why it's considered "ok" for women to hit men. But men usually hit women to attack them, and very rarely because they're being attack by a woman. Not that it doesn't happen, and if it did, I would give the man a total ok to hit the woman attacking him.

Really. When have you ever seen any of this shit happen? I'm a girl, I've never hit anyone, and you know what? If I did, I sure as he'll wouldn't have someone come up to me and high five me like "good job! You're strong for hitting that man! Way to go!"

I'm Catholic and I agree. The bible basically either portrays women as submitting (and therefore perfect) wives, or evil temptresses sent by the devil. Eve ate the apple right off the bat, dooming humanity to a life of toil and death. Thanks, Eve. Delilah cuts Samson's hair, resulting in his defeat. Way to go. Oh, and here's a gem: Ephesians 5:22, "Wives, submit to you husbands as to The Lord." The problem is this stuff's outdated by millennia. Also, my theory (I'm not an anthropologist or anything so don't take my word for it) is that since men are physically stronger generally speaking, it was easy to get into power. Once in power, of course they didn't want to leave, and in fact, hold many positions of power today.

Oh. Then we share that opinion. I think that men and women both have it rough (because we're all people and life isn't easy, whether it's because you just got beat up in a parking lot, or because you just got hospitalized for period cramps) but that we have it hard in different ways. It's so easy to look at the other gender and say, "oh. Men don't have to wear make up, or deal with boobs, or have periods" or "women don't have to work 9 hours a day because they can just get a man to provide for them, and they don't have to work with these assholes, and why the fuck do they have to be so complicated?" But really, life just hates everyone equally. There's true equality in that I suppose XD
