I think the French are very particulate about pronunciation. I don't have a large vocabulary in French, but my pronunciation is very good. I hardly ever have French people try to switch to English. They never do it when my wife with 1/4 French blood opens her mouth.

And then there's this: it looks like a standard car alternator that puts out around 14.5 volts. That's way, way, way below what an EV battery pack needs to charge. So there would be need for a step-up converter, which would introduce losses, and further decrease the range, on top of the already abysmal efficiency of a car alternator!

Not in my car. It has little spot lights that don't light up the whole interior, but just right in front of every passenger.
