I enjoy YYYY/MM/DD as it's the least ambiguous and can be worked into programming really easily.

I accidentally had a bomb in my pocket once. I had been overseas for new years and we'd been messing around with fireworks. Since they were only allowed to be fired the night of new years, the day after I was tinkering with the leftovers, mostly strings of firecrackers.
I'd disassembled a few 10s of them and extracted the gunpowder which I was lighting for some cool flashes, but was interrupted before finishing all of it off so I packed some of it into a small packet and put it in my pocket.
A few days later at the airport I realised during the "What if I accidentally have a bomb in my bag" period "Shit, I accidentally have a bomb in my pocket." Managed to make it halfway around the world, through 3 security gates without anyone noticing in possibly the only trip where I've not been selected for a random inspection. Set it all off at once back at home for a nice loud pop.

Except then you're gonna reopen the age old question of how many people is one "pop."

My cat is also great at catching mice and other small creatures, but he is sadly awful at killing them. He catches them outside, then just walks back into the house and plops them down in the middle of the living room and wanders off to take a nap while they scurry off to hide somewhere.

If it was in a bar fight it's more likely he was punched in the head, or knocked over and cracked his head on a hard surface killing him rather quickly via brain injury.
Then again, it's also possible he was just straight up stabbed by a knife or broken glass/bottle which would have been quite painful as it's a rather slow way to die compared to the other. Unless it was in a vital area like the neck or straight in the heart it would likely take enough time for the adrenaline to die down and make him astutely aware of his situation.

I think it's the emotional reaction, but I haven't much more clue than you.

They may have dated, but Shaggy shagged Scoob while Fred made love to his Right Hand man.

You're right, this is a very complex issue that unfortunately doesn't have a "right" answer. In the end I believe it comes down to marketing: "Would you get in a car that values your life less than that of others?"
An interesting moral debate could be whether to include an option to value the lives of passengers or pedestrians more, but ignoring the RND required to add two separate AIs to all vehicles, the argument would likely be just as long .

Didn't Australia try that in the mid 1900s?
I'm pretty sure it didn't go all that well.
