This. It's really hard to learn to use those pesky little things correctly if your own language doesn't have them. As a child when learning English it was always a guessing game. In Finnish we just use more cases instead.

Yes, very mature behaviour indeed, It's not like it's meant for things that are offensive, hurtful or inpproriate, I guess? It's much better to show someone when they are in the wrong, because they have a different opinion on something. You like Justin Bieber? Downvote. You voted for Trump? Downvote. You prefer thing A to thing B? You bet somebody's going to damn downvote. You do you but god do I hate this site sometimes.

But in the end none of that matters; let her be with a slob if that's what she wants, it doesn't make her any less dignified. Love doesn't always care about things like hygiene.
