depends on when it happens. If its before platoons are standard equipped with enough of the correct equipment to deal with a whole detachment of landships then they probably lose

Cover matches in nail polish remover to make them waterproof and peel it off when needed. If done lightly enough they will still float

If you need to cook in heavy wind dig a 2 foot long thin hole in the ground and then dig a diagonal hole connecting to it. Place the fire in the bottom and cook stuff at the top of the straight hole.
