the tl:dr is basically "the culture in which christianity was formed would have found asexuality to be problematic if said asexuality extended past marriage, prevented marriage or prevented the sexing of their spouse for the purpose of baby making. but now its a very mixed bag"

he's fully within his lane and the cyclist with the camera is far enough ahead that even if the one that got hit wasnt there the car is still breaking the law by coming back into the lane at that close to the cyclist, not to mention the fact that both the car and the truck are breaking the law by passing at all as they are in a double line zone.

the only further thing i have to say about that is the thing about money lenders, jesus would likely have still not liked them moneylending, even in the name of the church, because they saw any kind of moneylending, even no interest pay exactly back what you got given, as a waste and bad for society and humanity.

just gonna say, since the reason that homosexuality was considered bad in ancient times was a general air of waste being considered bad and that homosexuality was a waste of "seed and egg" in males and females respectively (which is the same reason that moneylending was considered evil, they considered it making nothing out of nothing and a huge waste of time, not to mention the whole debt thing)
id say chances are they would look at asexuality in a bad light, celibacy is good in that belief set but by the same belief set you are meant to get married and have children by the will of god so an asexual individual such as myself that would prefer to not do the whole sex thing (and even if i did id be dating a girl anyways which is a whole nother can of worms) would probably be considered a problem.

back quivers were only really used in massed combat in the past, in any situation where you have room to draw from the hip its generally better to do so and its generally considered best practice today, tho personal preference usually overrides what people know is better since speed of shooting doesnt really matter today.

"coupled with the controller you are comfortable with"
you can use whatever controller you want and more than one kind of controller and switch between which controllers you like on different games on a pc without having to buy multiple PCs for each controller type. hell you could play a game with one xbox controller, one ps4 controller, and a wii remote
plus, the ability to run only games on the machine is a bit moot when the hardware on the machine makes the fact its monotask still not enough to outpace the multitask machine with better internals in performance and visuals.
"I think a significant part of console appeal is the cost efficiency relative to pc. A console costs $400-600 and can be equivalent to a $1.5K-2.5K PC"
No, For any console out there you can build a stronger PC cheaper, the perception that consoles are cheaper for the same price is a myth and one that needs to die. Especially with that EXTREME assertion that a 600 dollar console can be equivalent to 1500 dollar pc.

deflecting it wouldnt work, swords in general and katanas especially are really weak from side to side impacts. if the shot is centered enough on the target there would theoretically be less movement to draw a katana than to dodge and more importantly less time to do the movement. a thick enough sword would cause the two halves to split at a large enough angle to not hit the person using the sword.
while yes, the trope is kinda dumb, its dumb because the sword would break if its non-magical. the shot most people are taught to take (center mass) is the one most likely to make drawing a sword take less time than dodging the bullet, so no, trying to deflecting or dodging the bullet are not inherently better options

Did an edit on my hair and I think I prefer the brown. What do you guys think?? 10 comments

its a bit of an unfair comparison if you consider the two colors competitors because the app added hair thickness in some places and added new hair where there was none as well, since the hair is only dyed part way up it would be pretty safe to assume that new hair would come in at a generally similar thickness as well as some of the hair in the faceapp picture never being there at all because its not a small amount of non-existent computer generated hair in some places.

and again, claiming that immigrants and annexed people are the same is a false equivelency, claiming that an annexed, conquered people choosing not to die for nothing means they should assimilate to the culture of the belligerent faction is also morally questionable and is indirectly supporting the actions of the american government to wipe out the native american culture through kidnapping their children because its the same exact situation just with the confederates didnt have their culture wiped after they were defeated.

calling surrendering choosing to come back is similar to saying the the various people who have been enslaved throughout history chose to be slaves because they didnt all fight it to death.
"Which alone invalidates the idea they’d be willing to die"
that's not how it works mate, saying "oh they surrendered when they realized they lost means them being willing to die is invalid" is illogical and arguably disingenuous. Being willing to die for something doesnt mean you have to be willing to die when its glaringly obvious you wouldnt actually be dying for it or else you arent actually willing to die for it. Being willing to die for something doesnt mean you have to be willing to die for nothing.
that's at BEST a true Scotsman fallacy.
"a big, white, surrender flag."
thats being purposefully antagonistic. "hey you surrendered so your historic heritage is surrender"
"rebellious spirit" great joke, now wheres your real justification that isnt patently wrong?

the only thing i have to add is that immigrants choose to come to a county and a group that was effectively annexed back into a county did not choose to be part of the culture and actively opposed being part of said country to the point of being willing to die for it.

the children weren't human children, the way hags make new hags is to eat human children. After they eat a child some hag magic lets them give birth to a new hag child that looks exactly like a human child until they hit 13 years of age.
they just "saved" a bunch of hag children that will turn into identical copies of the hags they killed.

One good example of the issue being more complex than just planting trees is the heightened average temperatures not killing off wood beetles in the winter which has killed more than half of the trees on some hills and at a minimum of around a 1/4th of the tree coverage being gone.
You can't just plant more of the same trees, the beetles will just kill those too. You can't just add a new species of tree to the ecosystem without causing cascading changes to the whole area and good luck getting it to stick.

350 million trees isn't a lot on a grand scale, you'd have to plant 20 million trees a day for the rest of time to offset the carbon emissions of just the United States assuming it doesn't change for the rest of time, a one and done of 350 million trees is nothing but, at its best, a publicity stunt to raise awareness of the issue and I really doubt they framed it that way.

Education is, from a certain point of view, only good for improving your quality of life, understanding more jokes and enjoying more jokes will be a measurable increase in quality of life that will provide at minimum some benefit where as other forms of quality of life improvements such as getting a better job aren't as solid in the fact they will definitely happen so really that function of education is more important than others for the individual
