wait, BOTH were wrong?
how is supplying a fuck ton of religious texts infringing on someone's right to religious freedom? you aren't forced to follow the tenants and lifestyle given by the religious text when supplied a free copy of it by a stranger. How in the hell is giving access to banned religious text doing anything other than helping religious freedom?

the egyptians are to blame for the 24 hour thing
they allocated a nice even 10 hours to the day and put a transition hour for dawn and dusk. They then allocated 12 hours to the night based on the movement of the stars, giving about 40 minutes to the rise and fall of their star groups relative to each other.
The hours also were not set amounts of time during the day, they expanded and contracted as the seasons passed as the sun took longer or shorter to reach dusk, always having that shifting duration of daylight divided into 10 hours.

probably some connection chain from "minorities tend to be more likely to be disadvantage" and then connecting that to "disadvantaged people tend to be more likely to be affected by barriers to voting" making it more likely that a racial minority be made barred from voting by circumstance from anti-fraud measures than a white person.
The issue with calling that anything similar to "racist" is that it implies malice, it implies that reason for implementing fraud reduction is racially charged, that its intent isnt to stop voter fraud but to negatively affect minorities through a 2 or 3 chainlink indirect path, which is absolutely ridiculous.

dream is a minecraft influencer whose primary audience is children
technoblade is another minecraft influencer whose primary audience is also children.
the cake has technoblade's minecraft character on it. Dream's child fanbase reacted how children often do, by being awful to people that like a different entertainer than them.

Elections are an interesting logistical problem. There has to be some level of fraud deterrent. If there wasn't every election could be effectively "DDoS" attacked through sending in more fake absentee ballots than exist possible real ones. You put too much deterrent in place and you start to deter real votes too, said deterrents tend to affect legitimate votes of the disadvantaged variety first as well. Kicking people while they are down sorta thing. Gotta find a way to deter the crime while affecting people's right to vote in the smallest way possible. Functionally speaking there isnt a way to have security in voting without removing privacy, without putting barriers that catch real voters in the crossfire.
That's before you get to the fact the people in power dont understand the technology being used for voting. They don't understand the voting machines or how results are communicated across the country. We've also left voting machines in unlocked unguarded rooms before soooooooo

to be fair, the easiest way to stop hitler from becoming hitler is to stop world war 1. Hitler became who he was from a mixture of his upbringing, spoiled by his mother and abused and beaten out of hatred and disappointment by his father, and world war 1. To elaborate on that last bit, Hitler was a big patriot during that time, he went and fought for his country and was proud of his service, he gets back from the war to see a country that doesn't support its military and subsequently got pulled into the national socialist movement, a movement that heavily propogandized the problems in the war being blamed on jews, claiming they acted to hinder the war effort. That mixed with the extreme state being being lost from coming home to a homeland that didnt appreciate him all let to Hitler becoming the man he ended up being, a person who had an enemy and a country to fix that he felt only he could fix correctly.

i said this last time something got posted like this, ill repeat myself in far less words in a much less elegant way.
You should not have a defacto issue with "pedophiles." The group you should have a defacto issue with is "child sex offenders." the vast majority of sexual abuse/assault/etc committed upon children is done by people that dont even find children to be attractive, they dont do it for the sexual pleasure they do it for the power rush, children just happened to be easy victims to get them that power rush. As far as we can tell the vast majority of pedophiles never cause harm to children, most are good moral people that have something wrong with their head that causes them extreme mental health issues and self hatred, as stupid as the statement sounds, the most common trauma caused by pedophilia is suffered by the pedophile themselves.
Categorical hatred for pedophiles isnt warranted, Categorical hatred for people that harm kids is.

this is a good place to inform/remind the funsub crew that the average cost of a slave in the current modern earth is about 90 dollars, which is an extreme contrast to the cost of a slave before slavery bans started getting put in place centuries ago where they cost the equivalent of 40,000 dollars in modern money on average

Australia at this point basically has a "not so hidden" shadow council that is just the corporations. It's like they saw America's corporation based political corruption and said "we can do that but bigger."
Their equivalent of a president took a long ass vacation in Hawaii when their big bush fire stuff happened and he's probably still going to get another term because he advances corporate interests

this is dumber by far
wearing a mask into a restaurant at least stops you breathing on people sitting down at tables/booths while you are in transit to your table/booth. Once you sit down the physical solid barriers between the booths that are common now are likely a far better measure than the masks themselves at that point anyways. It at least makes some level of logical sense before you start into the whole "legal requirement rather than a CDC guideline" thing
this shit is at no point effective at all, since the masks are just cut up, there's no point during the entire "scenario" that the mouth and nose arent covered,

Rimworld has a fairly non-toxic community going for it. The closest thing to toxic ive seen in the rimworld community was people arguing when the first dlc came out. Some people claimed the dlc was basically just a couple mod ideas "stolen" by the game dev and made using the official dev tools instead of mod tools and the majority of the community disagreed with that assessment.
One thing to note about rimworld tho, its a singleplayer game which probably helps and its a single player game where insane things like making a cannibal colony that doesn't waste the leather from the human meat they eat by turning it into human leather cowboy hats is a completely possible and heavily memed thing you can do in the game. That probably has something to do with the low toxic level of the community that ive observed.

yea, we hunt for food here to supplement our food supply, killing a deer is going to be cheaper than the equivalent amount of meals made from purchased food, just need 2 rounds or 2 "shots" worth of powder, cap, and bullet depending on the season.
Hell, my tribe even still officially supports classes to teach people how to make traditional hunting bows with simple tools, not to mention the fact we've had enough "Boil Warnings" from heavy storms, ice storms, and flash floods fucking the water infrastructure here that even the more urban folk round here likely realize that boiling water when you dont know if its clean is a good step to staying alive.

I’m not sure I believe the idea that most people don’t have a couple someones in their circle that knows how to maintain a clean water supply.
My main issue in a post apocalyptic scenario would be the fact I’m still overweight but that’s a problem that solves itself in a physically taxing survival scenario.

I mean, their premise isn’t wrong. Children are awful, they will discriminate based on race if there is more of one skin colour but they’ll discriminate based on anything their very very very very short experience with life tells them is “weird” which to them just means “not something I’ve seen as often as other things”
You have buck teeth? Discriminated
You are white in an all black kindergarten? Discriminated
You hold your spoon slightly differently? Discriminated
It’s awful but it’s how children just are because they have existed for a very short amount of time, not because they are “racist”
Learning to not be that way is just part of growing up, it’s a phase that needs to be grown out of, not skipped, if that experience isn’t part of a persons growth one way or the other they won’t know how to deal with it happening in a serious environment internally.

As far as I’m aware Ra is just another way of symbolising rankine. There are 2 other systems that start with R, one is romer which is Ro and raeumur which is Re. From what I know you use R for all three when each is alone or with C/F and use the second letter to tell the difference when comparing them

this falls under the term "unsolicited goods"
you can keep such without worrying about being sued or arrested.
actually if they come back and try to make you pay for it THEY are committing a crime,
trying to force someone to pay for something they didn't "solicit" is illegal.
Now if this was real full package with someone else's listed address and name on it then it would be categorized as a mistaken package, which you are supposed call the shipping company and tell they got wrong. If, after doing that, they don't send someone to get it back within a reasonable amount of time, as far as I'm aware they cant sue you for keeping it. In the case they accidentally give you someone else's package the law is written so that you aren't to be inconvenienced by the mistake of the shipping company.
-
that, however, doesn't apply here, this is unsolicited goods, the person ordered something and received things they didn't solicit and are therefor not obligated to return or pay for the goods.

Looking at the internet archive it’s been removed all month, assuming the date in the picture is the post date I’d assume tit quickly got flagged and removed
However I will say, there are papers that are about topics that would fit this title that aren’t senseless attacks on normal people with reasonable opinions on our chaotic existence. Those papers speak of literal extremist groups using the guise of mischief/trolling tactically to try to make hating on someone for things like race or ethnicity more acceptable. Actually groups of hateful people trying to slowly convert further and further away from hateful people into people that are accepting of hatred.
These groups are tiny, and likely not a threat except for them personally hurting someone else, but it’s something that should be noted, something that should not be allowed to go unnoticed.
