There's a rather large difference betwixt the two
Colonised America has brought about huge leaps in the quality of life for literally billions of people
The Native Americans hardly advanced as a civilisation for millennia
I'm not saying that necessarily justifies things, but it's a point many don't even consider

I've actually thought about this at some length
We're concentrating entirely on the pleasure
Anything else such as making noise is a distraction

The trouble with "going green" in terms of power sources is that it will hit the 3rd world countries the hardest
Coal, gas, and petroleum are playing their part in lifting literally millions out of poverty in those countries (mostly in Africa)
So if we eliminated those "dirty" power sources, we'd also hugely impede the improvements in the quality and safety of life for millions
Unfortunately, solving these things is nowhere even remotely as simple as the likes of Greta Thunberg et al would like you to believe
