First day of school in Grade 1. The building, having been relatively empty for the summer, had developed a unique, not unpleasant, but different, musty smell. I've run into a fleeting shadow of that scent, a dozen or so times over the last, almost 6 decades, and each and every time I'm transported back to that day.

From a Reddit post on this photo:"His experience with Nazi Germany and anti-semitism definitely informed his worldview on racism.
Some of the best takeaways from that article:
- He joined Theodore Dreiser to protest the Scottsboro Boys trial (which led to Henry Ford publishing libelous essays about him written by literal Nazi's)
- He accepted an invite from W.E.B Du Bois to publish a piece where he praised the civil rights effort, urging African-Americans "not to let racists drag down their self-worth"
- He gave a speech at Lincoln University in 1946 saying, "There is separation of colored people from white people in the United States...That separation is not a disease of colored people. It is a disease of white people. I do not intend to be quiet about it.”
- He was placed under FBI surveillance by J. Edgar Hoover (as with all civil rights activists of course)"

BIG WEDDING and BIG DIAMOND got together to set these "rules". Just like Valentine's Day suddenly filled in the commercial doldrums between Christmas and Easter.

1) As a government agency, the PO SHOULDN'T be making a profit. It should break even at best. 2) It charges a fixed rate, no matter where a delivery-its for-profit competitors charge more for rural deliveries...when they aren't actively offloading the last leg...onto the PO. 3) It doesn't control its prices-Congress does. 4) It was making TOO much money, so in 2006, Congress mandated they set aside $110B over 10 years-about $50B MORE than they took in. That why they're in trouble.

Just to elaborate. He was a black cat, who at age 7, started to change his coat to that beautiful pattern. The vitiligo, in no way, impacted his health and he lived to the ripe old age of 19.

Seek out SA Wardega's, "Mutant Giant Spider Dog", on YT to see people's reactions to a not legit super tarantula.

Honestly, after all keyboard warriors we've encountered on social media, who didn't love the way they handled it at the end of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? Everyone is free to disagree with a person's position, but ad hominem attacks and name calling, from a distance, are a cowardly way try to win an argument. If you aren't willing to say what you want, to a person's face, perhaps you should rephrase it.

We used to find loose rivets on the exterior of the aircraft fuselage, by noting the tar streaks that formed, as smoke filled cabin air weeped past them. It was always a pain in the ass to change them. Surprisingly, the rivets apparently stopped getting loose, soon after smoking was forbidden aboard aircraft, lol.

His name is Gibson. He's a 180lb, Giant Alaskan Malamute, which were evidently bred to fend off polar bears.

@shiftingsands My parents were Polish. I spoke Polish at home but never read or wrote it. My mother often complained about how hard it was to write English, not like Polish which was "written the way it sounds". She left out the part that maybe that was true if you were Polish or totally fluent, but impossible to do if you were English, lol.

Great. Undigested corn now comes with decorative options. Pro Tip: avoid the red if you're easily startled.
