I like it because it allows me to turn my brain off and escape the unceasing drudgery that is my life. It's my only respite from the soul numbing reality that all I ever do is spiral towards an untimely death, most likely at the hands of diabetes or heart disease.

yeah, but oftentimes, the truth isn't nearly that complicated, and more often than not, the absolute truth isn't that hard to find, ain't it?

Just write back "no". And when they send you to the principal's office, just tell the principal that you refuse to conform to their namby pamby bullshit, and you WILL exercise your first amendment rights like a motherfucking American. Doesn't matter if you're not American, you can still claim it, as long as you actually try to get your country leadership to give you actual rights.

You can go to Walmart right now and buy a bottle of regular insulin for less than 25 dollars. You don't even need a prescription. It isn't instant, it takes about an hour for the full effect, but it's better than nothing. He could have at least used it to tide him over until he had enough for the Novolog and Lantus. Novolog, by the way, is basically instant, it takes, like, ten minutes for full effect (don't quote me on that), and Lantus is sort of a background kind of thing. But yeah, this guy's death had nothing to do with "teh evulz of Capituhlizm!!!".

a bottle of regular insulin is 25 dollars. This man was either unwilling to settle for regular, or was ill-informed by his doctor. My mother has lived with diabetes since she was eight years old, and we are dirt poor. Yeah, taking daily insulin shots sucks, but it's better than nothing, and this man's death was not caused by our lack of socialism, but by either his shitty doctor, or his bad choices. Downvote me to hell, and I'll see you all there. He should have gone to a doctor when his blood sugar got past 300. They would have taken care of him, and yeah, he would have had a bill for a few hundred dollars, but I'm pretty sure that's far better than DYING.

Dude, that guy did not die because we don't have socialized medicine, I guarantee it.

Yo, insulin is fucking 25 dollars at Walmart. And y'all can't blame not having socialized medicine for this because my mom has been saved several times at the hospital without even having insurance. Yeah, we got a bill in the mail, but they didn't just leave her to die, considering that's against the law.
