And spray liquid catnip on it to help encourage your cat to use it. It's pretty cheap
Buy toys. Bell balls, squeaky mice, mice on strings, anything that'll catch it's attention
.
Feed your cat mostly dry food, but a can now and then is a nice treat and will keep it healthy. Feeding it only cans isn't bad, but it's poop will smell god aweful
.
That's all I can think of on the tip of my head, but tag me if you have any questions

Do everything @fell_equinox just said. Honestly you just have to give it time to associate with its surroundings and learn that it can trust you, let it be for a little bit then you can start cuddling (if it's that type of cat). One thing you should know about most cats is they do what they want, when they want, very independent. They still love you though if you treat them right, let it know you're a friend.

@parisqueen is right, cats do what they want, but stick to my snap conditioning, then you'll have your cat obedient in no time. And by obedient, I mean it'll stop being a little shit

Ooh, 'Member Pavlov?

Yeah that's who inspired my idea =3

My cat does fine. It honestly depends on the cat's personality compared to yours. I would go with their method, but sometimes it's whatever works for you.
I use that litter though. 10/10 get it.

Oh Pavlov. That does ring a tuning fork.

I rescued my cat when he was just a few days old and he almost starved to death. My vet thought he wouldn't make it, but he gave me free kitten formula to try and after weeks of treatments, he became healthy. He's almost 2 years old and I worked really hard on training him. He was the biggest shit when it came to s watching furniture, but he learned quickly

When my cat would bite me...i would curl over him so he couldn't bite, claw, or run. He hated it. He learned. Then we declawed him. He's an indoor cat.

I'm going to have to try that ear thing when my cat jumps up on my lego shelves. Perhaps I can turn the tables!

Just remember, only snap 1 warning and if he still acts up, flick his ear. When you're first training him, grab his scruff and flick him twice. Soon hell flinch or run whenever you snap your fingers. Mine gets on him tummy

It might take a little longer since she's not used to it yet :/ hopefully it sticks though. Right now if she pushes it too far I act like a bandersnatch and chase her around on all 4's while roaring at her lol

Ear flicking works wonders because they fucking hate it

I'll let you know how it goes lol

I let my cats do whatever. Not everyone does that but my pets are like family so when we got our cats we just let them walk around and sleep wherever they want, they know where the food is and they taught themselves to do their business outside. Honestly depends on the cat but most are smart enough to know what's right and what's wrong by themselves.

I let my cats do w/e besides the legos. Even them sitting on the table during dinner doesn't bother me... I actually like it lol
