Tbh you don't need any tips. Play whatever is fun. Skyrim isn't that hard and everything is viable. Besides you can max out all of your skills so it doesn't really matter.

Go argonian and get the wabajack as fast as possible

Save frequently early on.

If you like that kind of stuff, read up on the lore a bit, it made the world way more enjoyable for me

Start on lower difficulty setting so you’re not dying every five seconds until you level up some and get better at the game.

Okay the wobbajack may suck damage wise but it is the most fun weapon in that game.

I was just replaying, as a Khajit Theif/Assassin. Going to the Snow Veil Sanctum for the Theifes guild, almost at the veeeery las door before things get.... interesting. But, You know what happened? I DIED. now I have to start the whole thing - 20ish minutes, from the beginning.
Save. All. The. Time.

Oh also: once you’re done with your first playthrough, mod the everliving crap out of it (though I think that’s not really possible on PS4)

If you hear people having a conversation, listen to them. It'll usually start a quest. Also don't wait too long to go up the 7000 steps cause I did and had to fight a dragon and frost troll at the same time.

I’m in the late level 20s (I thiiink 27? Haven’t played in about a week) on my new run through. Haven’t killed a Dragon, haven’t started the main quest line.

Just make a lot of saves and don't delete any. There's nothing worse than dying without having saved in the last 30 minutes.

Dont kill the chicken

Yeah, do NOT kill any animal while in a town. They will hunt you down.
People are easier to kill (if nonessential) and get away with it

Find these. It's a great way to make fast gold, level up enchanting, and learn good enchantments quickly.

Also, my favorite build I've done is a Breton cleric. I basically made a tank that could heal itself. Heavy armor, one-handed with ax, block, and restoration for your main skills. Smithing, enchanting, alchemy, and alteration for secondary skills. Pick up the Agent of Mara active effect, and use the Lord Stone.
Pick up as many Salmon Roe, Nordic Barnacle, and Garlic as you can find. They make the most expensive potion you can sell in the game.
Also, download the Elder Scrolls Wikia app. It's absolutely fantastic and has complete walkthroughs of the quests, item locations, spells, enchantments, lore, etc.
Other helpful apps are Skyrim Alchemist and Tamriel Maps.
