Yeah I know this is really cheap, but I have no clue.
For those who don't know, I need to come up with a question to research. It needs to be a fairly open question, but not too open that it's impossible to cover it all in 10 pages.
Here's what I've got so far.
Reading, Writing Why are clichés so successful?
Memes Socio-cultural impact
Doctor Who When will it end? Socio-cultural impact?
Marvel Movies What makes them so successful?
Music Why do people like music?
Animals ???
Video Games What is a gamer?????
Internet ???

You have a page limit? I did a report for mine and as long as you do this thing explaining your report you can have as many words as you want.
TIPS: Pick something you are passionate about and something you will enjoy researching. START EARLY. Do not make your question too broad. You need a question that can branch off into other smaller question you can answer that eventually answer your overall question. Before picking a question, research. If you can't find evidence or statistics to backup what you want then don't pick that question. Also. If your question is too broad, don't freak out and spend weeks doing shit all, CHANGE YOUR QUESTION. I can't pick a question for you as it's a very personal project but all of these are way too broad and won't give you a solid enough foundation to work off.

I'm sorry to say I've heard all this before. I just have trouble narrowing it down. Where can I start?

All good. Hmm, well start by picking one topic you're passionate about. All these questions have a different topic like literature, film etc. Try picking just one.

For me, I always pick a wide topic. As a quick example, last semester I had to write an argument paper for a question of my choice. I wrote down a list of major topics, mine were; Environment, Science progression, Space explorations, Popular technology, Disease research. (All things I was interested in either vaguely or selectively.) I then looked at popular topics within them. For instance, Environment got narrowed down to Deforestation, Global Warming and Endangered Species. I then picked a question about all of these narrowed down topics. (The questions I pick usually are ones that can go many ways. I pick ones that I can play both sides to a single conclusion.) I lined the questions up and decided which ones A. I was most interested in, B. Were most used, and C. Which ones gave me more research material. In the end I went with Global Warming. I then read a bunch on that topic. When I found a kind of hot spot for arguments, I picked a question that let me show information on both-

-Sides of the argument. My argument was kind of particular, but I've found that the process of narrowing down my subject, then shallowly researching around Before picking my question has veen the best ive used. Sorry if this doesn't help you for your paper! I've helped a few classmates by doing this narrowing down with them, but a few others couldn't apply it to their kind of schoolwork. I hope your paper goes great! Sleep well and study hard!

That is good advice.

And if you have a lot of sources, keep track of them and maybe create citations for them as you go. :)
