Still no answers huh? I’m no expert in Louisiana biotech, but I want to try and help. At least maybe bump the thread. Forgive me if you’ve thought of these. As an “outsider” I can only say what I would try. I’d check to see if my school had any sort of programs, ask teachers in the department if they have leads or advice, network other students to see if they get anything I can try and follow on, talk to a councilor, and if that failed I’d hit the net. Linkdin, all that jazz. Maybe some organizations like the state biotech council. Check company websites to see if they have anything, get contact and other info, begin a campaign of emails, calls, and random drop ins to talk to people at those companies and pester or talk my way in, and if all else failed... I’d try and find out what the criteria are for the requirement. Lots of companies use “biotech” for processes from polymers to produce, even network design. What would qualify as a “biotech company” for the requirement....

.... and what do my responsibilities as an intern have to be? For an exaggerated example: would interning in the mail room at a sewage plant that uses biotech satisfy the criteria? If all else failed I’d get creative. One thing I learned in years of racing is that the podium almost always go to the people who played by the letter of the rule (as far as anyone could prove anyway...) while disregarding the spirit of the rule. There’s a reason for lawyers. It’s not what is meant, but what is said that dictates a rule. So in a bind I’d try and get creative while staying in the prescribed limitations of what I could get away with. Sorry if this is no help. I wish I knew more to tell you “go down to Lafyette and talk to ol’ Dave and CNR on 14th....” but that’s what I’ve got, it may or may not be better than not eplies at all. Hopefully someone who knows a “Dave” will come along through. Best of luck.

Thanks the program administrators are no help at all , they rarely interact with us, but this advice is actually helpful .Thank you very much.

It’s frustrating to have weak admins. It was my pleasure to do what little I could though.

does it have the same retarded issues? Can I just go through it for fun or does this have to somehow be sanctioned?
