.... or fall off and go back to the small stage and the old style. I hope that imagine dragons at the very least respects fans like yourself by releasing at least pet projects or off label alblums/bonus tracks that are more what you want to hear. It’s always a shame when a band is more about the fame or money than the music or the fans who were there before those things took off. If not, maybe someone else will come up and start making the types of songs they used to. That’s a common way new musicians are discovered, by reminding of us musicians we loved before they changed styles for whatever reason. Still. It sucks, and I’m sorry. Just hang in, enjoy the old songs and let’s hope they at least make some new ones that you like, the sooner the better.

Thanks man. I hope they do that. Or at least I stumble upon somebody with a similar or better style. Still hurts tho.

True that.

Dude, I have the same problem with Portugal The Man.... I’m only really familiar with Imagine Dragons songs that got popular, but for being on the radio I always thought it was half decent. I should probably check out some of their earlier stuff. Maybe check out Animal Collective, not sure if it would appeal to you or not, they’ve changed their style drastically as well since they began, but not so much to appeal to larger audiences.

Will definitely check them out. You know, when I need to listen to good rock music and can't find any modern shit, I just shift back to 80s rock and everything becomes just fine.

And yes when they initially started to go mainstream they had better content but then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.

I've never cared about bands going mainstream as long as I still enjoy the music (especially FoB), but if it hinders my enjoyability of the music then I start to get a tad miffed

Did Imagine Dragons ever manage to write a song that wasn’t about the lead singer being told he would never be a success and then proving everyone wrong?

Surprisingly before Evolve they did. They have a lot of good or decent songs. Just check out their Night Visions and Smoke and Mirrors album and the EPs; Continued Silence, It's Time. Their early stuff is good. Catchy tunes, nice lyrics.

I know, they are my son’s favorite band. I was just attempting to be funny.

I agree. Bands that have already broken up, especially long ago, and bands with older members tend to stay good. For example, I'll say Radiohead. After their initial success with Creep in their album Pablo Honey, they simply got better. Each album, especially King of Limbs, Kid A, and OK Computer was even better than the last in its own special way. Another example is My Chemical Romance, at least in my opinion. I know a lot of people think they're just emo garbage, which is fine. That's your opinion. But in my opinion, once the third album came out, The Black Parade, their sales rocketed and just kept getting better, even to the end when they broke up in 2013 after their final album, May Death Never Stop You. I wholeheartedly believe they grew up, matured, and opened their eyes to a new world that was so much better than the one they lived in before the band. And this really shows in their albums. They never stopped being great. Unlike Imagine Dragons, Radiohead and MCR never caved

to the musical peer pressure that is making modern monstrosities like Chainsmokers and Lil Pump. Just my two cents. Also, if you need a band to listen to, I would vouch for the Beatles ten times over. Best band of all time, hands down. Hope that helped. Sorry for the ramble xx

When I need to listen to music I just go to the 80s rock. Queen is my favourite band of all time.

I am constantly trying to convince my sister that no, not all of Imagine Dragons is crappy (at least not their originals). I used to be so happy with each new album... and now I cringe with every drop. :( Kills me how artists dilute their styles/selves simply to appeal to a more widespread population.
