PC and Xbox Player. After the PS4 rise, kids moved to PS. Less kids to deal with and less toxic. PUBG and PC removed a lot of kids from Xbox as well.
However when I do deal with them or I spot grown toxic players I just report or block. If it's just someone trash talking I mute and ignore but teamkilling and objective manipulation is different so I report.
I hate it when people throw in the game, specially in competitive matches. Like why Queue up if you are just going to quit and bring the rest of us down.

I mute them

I mostly party chat with my friends so I can only hear them. If I'm playing with randoms I'll just mute them if they're annoying.

PC and Xbox here, Mute -> Block -> Report. Also, understand that people doing that thrive on their negativity effecting you/what they say bugging you so dont give them the satisfaction.

PC gamer here! I do not use voice chat (to avoid loud swearing), so I use text chat often. When I see toxic commenters, I usually suggest they take a break from the game and come back when they've cooled down. Get the anger out without affecting other players. If they continue being toxic long after, I just report them.

They're usually the type who can dish it out, but can't handle it. If they win, they inflate their ego and trash talk you like you're a piece of shit. If you win or triumph over them, they rub their bruised ego and trash talk you like you're apiece of shit. It's always funny to watch someone like that lose. It' even better if you say nothing as you trounce their ass and watch them spew some random crap about how you suck.
