Forgive the silly question- have you checked your filter for comments? You can change between showing in chronological order or order by most liked. I’ve hit it on accident.

It will also randomly reset if your device or browser has updated.

How exactly do you change that? I think I'm having the same problem, and I only use the mobile website

In mobile, when you go into a thread (that isn’t a chat thread) and look at the box to post your comment, right below it on the right should be the follow/unfollow “button” for the thread. To the left of the follow/unfollow “button” that is located directly below the main comment post field, there is another “button” that says either “sorted by time” in black/dark gray, or “sorted by likes” in green. Touching it once will change wether the posts are displayed by time order or like order. If the text is free and says “sort by likes” you will not see the posts in chronological order.
