It was meant to be a joke more than anything from what I remember. The people who made it were into comedy iirc. They posted it thinking it would fail and then the internet responded by making it the number 1 youtube video of 2013

The brothers who made it make a lot of joke videos and are somewhat famous where they’re from. There are other similarly weird ones, but no, not a hallucination.
