A nice notebook/journal. If you know her favourite kind of poetry you could get a collection of that, but the blank notebook is a safer option.

A book is the best thing gift a person into literature. She has a favourite poet? Give her a book of his/her collection of poems or something like that.

Give her the movie Dead Poets Society. Great movie, will make you cry and if she likes Robin Williams she'll love it even more.

Oh man, yeah. Dead Poets Society is amazing. It the movie that Dharma productions ripped off for making Mohabbatein. Like a really shitty and watered down version of it.

with these suggestions of notebooks, i say try avoiding notebooks that arent the spiral kind unless youre gonna buy something a little more expensive. cheap regularly bound sketch/notebooks fall apart easily. especially if they claim that the pages are "easily torn out."

oh! and try a notebook with faint lines or no lines at all, perhaps your friend likes to write outside the lines a bit? thats how i write my poetry.

Pretty much just going to back everyone else up on these great suggestions. Ultimately the “best” one depends on your friends personality. A nice notebook is good because it’s useful, thoughtful, and they’ll have it a long time and be reminded of you! Some poets- the best gift might be a moment of beauty. To take them to a place- any place, not necessarily the Eiffel Tower, but a clearing, vista, a little glade or somewhere that is local and they likely haven’t seen. You can combine some of there ideas too. But don’t over stress. You know your friend better than us. The perfect gift is the one you cherish, and a thoughtful gesture from someone you care about is something most anyone worth your efforts will certainly cherish. Best of luck
