You‘re gonna do great, march :)

Best of luck. Just focus on the reality of the moment, fantasies and what ifs and all that can be played with later. For now, do what needs doing the best you are able and- best wishes.

Do you have some responses ready? Like why you are a good choice for the position, some examples of conflict you've overcome at work, a project you led or contributed to?
mrfahrenheit · 5 years ago
I just got back from mine. It was a group interview, and I think I did well. I also have one tomorrow
jay2327 · 5 years ago
Finger crossed for you too, @mrfahrenheit
marchewkowa · 5 years ago

I just got back from mine today. The interviewer was an hour late, so they gave me more free luge rides.
jay2327 · 5 years ago
Was there an excuse for being late? It makes you wonder how strict they are with their rules....
scatmandingo · 5 years ago
Who cares about tardiness? What kind of luge rides?
mrfahrenheit · 5 years ago
skyline luge, in queenstown
i think they might have been busy, but i didn't ask, that would be rude. They gave me two free rides to help answer some of the interview questions, and then gave me 2 more after he didnt show

That's awful. I would probably not take the job there if they treated me like that from the beginning. It shows a lot about how they respect people

i mean, its a massive tourist attraction, and the interviewer was the head operator

I can understand where a lot of people are coming from saying they wouldn’t take a job after an interview like that- but it sounds legitimate to me. Lots of professional fields like logistics or hospitality aren’t 9-5 predictable and require adaptability. Where as I might feel it a bad sign if I was applying at a bank and the manager couldn’t keep appointments, I think it’s understandable that a manager- especially one at a major tourist attraction- could have something come up last minute and that it isn’t a sign of disorganization or disrespect so much as it is an element of the unpredictable nature of the job. It certainly gave you some insight into the work environment and how the job is. I think it’s nice they acknowledged it and gave you some free rides as a courtesy. I wouldn’t say in this case that I wouldn’t take the job, but I would say go in eyes wide open if you already weren’t. But so long as you are aware this is a “the job comes first” job- it’s all good.
