@savage_demmigod
Thank you. Though I don't really know why I would deserve it.
I hope yours goes away too. It really ain't great to have and very few people if anyone deserve it looming over them.

I have been watching Christmas cartoons all day and making candy. Even had a happy accident when I thought I messed up peanut brittle, made a candybar instead!

@nobodyimportant I'm jealous
nobodyimportant · 4 years ago
@xvarnah this was the first time in months that I had spare time for anything, I work as an in home care giver and I go almost 24/7.

Not much.

@nobodyimportant well I'm glad you got some time for yourself then! And I'm still jealous you made candy haha

I drove my mom to the airport and can have my house to myself again. I also found it particularly funny that she got delayed due to the traffic and TSA increased security, missed her flight, was re-booked on a later flight, and decided instead of making me drive (it's only a 12 minute drive; max), she just decided to go eat and get plastered within the airport without having me come pick her up and drop her back off; which means I could take a nap and start drinking right before this Lakers-Bucks/Rockets-Clippers double header. Even when the timing is whack, came through on top.
Oh, side note on the airport drive... she told me the gate was C47, when it was B47, so I went to the C terminal, which only goes up to 39, and was like... dafuq? Driving around to get back to the B47 terminal cost about 10 minutes, which might have been enough to cause the delay; I can't say for certain, I didn't go inside the airport and see the lines.

On that side note: I guess it's more of a combination of both, that second screening isn't normal. Had it been a normal flight, it would have been perfectly fine timing... but holidays amirite? I was also waiting there for 20 minutes, not 5 minutes after I woke up, waiting for her to get ready. I could have even wiped out that 5 minutes, as that consisted of me smoking a cigarette, then brushing my teeth and washing my hands.

@who_cares How are you?
who_cares · 4 years ago
I am good. I have been thinking to join some NGO lately just to feel contented. Does it srem like a good idea? I mean I am working 7 to 5. Should I invest into that?
who_cares · 4 years ago
Invest as in invest my time.
cakelover · 4 years ago
7-5 day are intense
You'll probably need regular breaks
Can you try it out with fewer hours and then increase it if you want?
who_cares · 4 years ago
Yes I can do that too. So you're suggesting that I do a minimum initially and then start doing for longer hours.
cakelover · 4 years ago
I'm suggesting you at least consider it for sure
I used to work 40 hour weeks and found that quite long (although I'm well aware that humans in developed countries are now working fewer hours than they ever have in history)
It depends on how much you plan to do outside of the role - socialising, exercising, reading, second job/voluntary role, etc.
who_cares · 4 years ago
True that. I guess I should start at least and then see how this goes. Thanks.
