@xvarnah reptiles are so hard to diagnose sometimes. I mean with my cats I could immediately tell when something was wrong, but reptiles often seem fine until they suddenly die and you realize there was something wrong all along

@mialinay indeed. It would be nice if they could just find a way to tell us "hey, I'm not okay." And they often seem to go downhill quite fast when something is wrong. It doesn't help that activity and handling are often things that make them stressed, so we try to leave them alone when they are stressed so they can calm down, and then get even more blindsided. I've heard with garter snakes they can be perfectly healthy and sometimes just pass away for no apparent reason at all.

What about the eggs? Can they be incubated? Or saved?

She couldn't lay them, and having them removed via surgery would've cost us quite a bit of money.
So they died with her.

I am so late but I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you take care of other pets really well and smile at the happy memories of Leonara. She is looking down at you and she wants her momma to be happy so do that.

Hey it was not your fault, you didnt know. Take your time to get over the grief but don't feel guilty about it. You did the best you could.

I'm trying. But my room space is limited anyway, so maybe it's not too bad if they're with him. Also we could do a terrarium switcheroo then, he still has an old one for the geckos and their new one is too high anyway, so his snake gets the tall one so that she can climb more.
