- The idea of this Beta version is to get feedback and try to make this new version as functional as the existing one, old version will be running side by side, with all these comments I dont think we will be switching for a while so no worries on a forced switch. I won't be be able to make everyone happy but I will definitely give it a try.

I typically use an iPhone xr to use the site and I have the opposite problem where the posts are rather small but ads, the menu bar, and the watermark overcrowd the posts

@SuperDave I use a laptop (windows), but I know a lot of people use phones, so maybe I am in the minority?

I think I can speak for almost everyone here when I say that we know and appreciate that you take our input into consideration. I know it sucks to work hard on something and have no one appreciate it, so sorry for all the criticism, but thank you considering our opinions!

I use both (LG G7 Thinq, Windows) and I agree with @changetheworld.
1. I really like the simplicity of the old site, its clean look, while the easily accessible comments really bring a sense of community. I don't want to go to another window to read comments. I already have a tab problem. This will make me open a tab for every post I wanna see the comments on. And I check every comment on every post. It'd be madness. o_O
2. I come here to be happy and safe and relax my brain. The overstimulation of the newer version makes me want to go do something else less "painful" to my brain (and might drive me back to actually working :,-D )

So, TL;DR:
My ADD makes me want small rewards; a funsub break is the best, and I can also check for updates in my breaks between tasks. However, since it's too busy (users mentioned the distracting watermarks) I struggle to engage with the content and get immersed in the flow (kudos to in-line comments), so I disengage, which saddens me.

I also completely agree with @changetheworld: thank you so much for all the work and effort and taking our feedback into consideration :D

did you come across the different customization on desktop? expand/contract side menu, list/grid view (next to submit icon on top menu)?
- Footer ad will have "close" option

I haven't used the new funsub on desktop yet, I'm quite tight on deadlines currently since tests are coming up in a bit.

I did see it on mobile tho

I have noticed on the desktop version, when I click the check mark for notifications it automatically starts scrolling me to the top of the notifications making it hard/annoying to remove them

Thank you for your and your teams efforts Dave, I know it's tricky to work with a userbase that's been around for so long and are used to this site and the way it works. We really do appreciate how much you care and communicate with us.

@SuperDave Having been through this several times may I suggest you set up an email address where bugs can be reported including attached screenshots? Those emails can be put into your development backlog and reported back to the submitter.

Something I just noticed whilst talking to the others, sorry if this has been said previously but in order to comment on a chat you have to scroll to the bottom. This makes it hard when the chat thread is already over 1000 comments.

@SuperDave On the new version, just happened this evening. On PC most of the links lead to 404 not found

The only 2 tabs that work is popular and fun blog, not even submit or notifications link to anywhere

Even the more tab at the bottom leads nowhere

Actually I think i'm stupid, has the new version been taken down temporarily?

We did, we got really good feedback, thank you all for that. We are going back to the lab to make adjustments and come up with a nice hybrid.
