I am an IT consultant working on SAP...
I may get a new client, may not, it's all bloody tentative right now...

It's a scary time to say the least. All I can say is that I wish you the best of luck in whatever happens

With your background, you can update you're knowledge with free credit courses online. Some of the ivy league schools are doing this now. It might help and learning is always good.

I hope your fear is lifted quickly. My heart aches for everyone with so much fear and uncertainty laid on them.

Well that’s not too bad overall. It’s not like SAP is going anywhere anytime soon and the pool of consulting is smaller than demand because ERP isn’t as sexy for those coming out of college. I can’t tell from your wording if you are an independent consultant but if you aren’t now might be a good time to put yourself out there to pick up some side work so that you aren’t completely dependent on your salary and you may find there’s enough work out there for you to go independent.
