You can tell them the symptoms (stomachache and nausea) rather than the cause itself, because if you mention stress, they might get the idea it's caused by the job and have some odd thoughts

Thanks @risingflames, I've sent my boss an email using your advice. That's what I was stressing about, if I mention stress then they might think it's job-related

Are you saying you’re actually a cat? :p hope you get better soon tho :)

Are you obliged to tell your boss what exactly you have? Here you aren't.
And your human gave you pretty good advice because mental health is equally important as physical health!

I hope your day off helps you a bit

You should take a leave to rest your brain. Stress will kill you. I'm telling you from experience. Your mental health is much more important. I ask the same question as @mia_linay. Are you forced to say what you have? In my country, if a boss does that, its ground for a civil case. I remember a woman about 3-4 years ago had complications in relation to her period (I don't remember details) and her boss (a female) asked her to detail what is wrong. The employee then went on to sue he

Thanks @bensen!
@mia_linay no, but on the HR leave form you have to complete a drop-down list of what it is and stomachache and nausea aren't listed, just cause-related stuff like stress, anxiety attack, major depression, surgery/specify surgery type, diarrhea, kidney stones, vertigo, tonsillitis, back pain, ear infection, eye infection, urinary tract infections, etc.

@mia_linay thank you. Unfortch I ended up feeling worse cause of the stress surrounding all the stuff that I needed to do so I started doing some of the stuff I can sit still and do in front of the PC (good) but ended up not resting (bad)
@omar1992 yeah, you're right. I'm one of the people that advocate to prioritize mental health and then proceed to do fuckall about it when it comes to myself lol

So basically I was told to self-isolate and go for a COVID test, can't return to work or class if I don't a) have a negative COVID test, or b) have self-isolated for 10 days. Since I have practicals and tests next week, I went for a COVID test yesterday. Will hopefully receive the results today or tomorrow.
