In japanese, they don't say moon, they say suki, which roughly translates to I love you, and I think that's beautiful

I used to take tickets at a movie theatre and I had 4 customers come up at once so I was so busy trying to take their tickets I didnt notice the lady come up behind me also trying to talk to me, and so she shoved me into the wall and I was so shocked. I turned around, didn't say anything and ppl were looking at her and she looked a little flustered and goes "well I needed you to tell me where my seat was". I was fine, but jeez.

The specific term 'thoughts and prayers' is over stated, but if you can't do anything, then praying for them (or thinking about them, for non religious) is about the only thing you CAN do. Prayer is a very powerful thing in Christianity, though secularists don't believe in it, and even then, at the very least, showing sympathy and empathy are not useless gestures.

People just personify Jesus (and Mary too) as their own culture and race. In Asia, He's portrayed as Asian. It probably helps people relate to Him better.

Half the girls I know date 'ugly' guys and think they look really good! The key is confidence, respect, and a nice personality, and that goes both ways.

fun fact, people with epilepsy (in the US) oftentimes wear bands that notify bystanders or ems responders not to call ambulances or place them in an ambulance if help arrives for that reason exactly

Anyone noticing a lot of "women are jerks/crazy, too" memes recently? Not that they're wrong per se, I think it just paints the idea that some lady's crazy actions are more common than they actually are?? But there aren't any about men that i've seen, except florida man, and thats not really negative imo. Just a random thought, could be wrong

I think her "acting weird" is just trying to process the situation, bc not everyone makes out with their beer. He is actually so quick to do it, it makes me think he did it specifically so she wouldn't feel forced. In addition, as she's backing up, she's smiling. No hard feelings. She finds it funny.

I never really considered myself a pushover, I just was raised with a strong sense to put others' needs before me. I didn't realize until I was in college that the way my friends and acquaintances treated me was often unjustified, and I really had no clue bc I was so used it it (even now I still hardly realize it). So yeah, I think that is a possible outcome (especially since I have low self esteem) but the pros outweigh it. I sometimes see people who have no idea how self-centered they are, and it leaves them with little compassion for others, and they get angry a lot. I'm not perfect either, but I feel like im doing some things right and that is totally worth it.

These bills are meant to be controversial bc they are supposed to be challenged and taken to court. They are not trying to pass the law as much as they are trying to change the constitutionality of Roe v Wade, which is bad news if you are pro choice but a win if you are pro life.

Well, it'd be considered a federal crime, which CAN be put up for death penalty, but it wouldn't. There were only 25 people killed by death penalty last year, and less than 1% of those on death row are women. You can also get the death penalty for spying on the government, in theory.

That's so fallible though. A baby inherently needs a caretaker in order to survive. Toddlers need parents. Older, sick people in nursing homes also need caretakers to survive. A baby is a baby bc its biologically at an early stage in life. That's all.

If I tried doing that my sis'd be like "uh no", my mom'd be like "I promise it works, get a job and u can find out" and my more distant relatives would be like "??we haven't spoken in months??"

Personally I'm a Hispanic woman in computer science who just got an internship at a really great place, and it grinds my gears when my classmates insist that the only reason I got hired was only bc of affirmative action and not bc of my years of work experience, 4.0 gpa, and team collaboration skills. Although I will say, like all things, the hiring process is not perfect and is always in need of good, unbiased people.

Yeah, I hear this a lot, but there are many ways to view the situation. Diversity quotas are more than a forced show of inclusiveness. Tons of studies show that businesses who have higher multicultural and gender diversity perform much better than businesses with lower, as well as create positive and healthy work environments. Diversity brings more ideas and perspective, and women especially score higher in areas of social perspective and collaboration. Anyone who works in teams on big projects can tell you that having qualifications or experience is only part of what you bring to the table.

Although the Christian response would be that he's not a sinner the way we are. We have different kinds of free will that make praying for him essentially futile, and not in a "lost-causes-are-worth-fighting-for!" way
