At the Canadian mint in Ottawa if you take the tour you get to hold an actual bar of gold at the end. Because of its shape, smoothness and extreme weight, it's very difficult to actually get a grip on it. Once you do, it's heavier than you'd think. Oh, and it's guarded by 2 guards with assault rifles.

Evolution at work. Although this shows the side that you rarely see, the one with the unique change in its DNA as compared to those around it. In this setting, white fur would actually be worse than brown or black, but in the arctic, he'd be far less visible to prey. That's where these genes would be passed along thanks to "survival of the fittest". That's why we have polar bears.

Dogs show an insane amount of emotion, especially with their face. From my experience with dogs (had 4), they're as good as humans for showing visual emotional cues. My first dog would literally smile every time we got home from school.

I actually agree. While there are countless species just on this planet, let alone the entire universe, it's still a shame to lose one forever, because each is different and fascinating in its own way.

I think the ideas requiring violence are worse than useless. Useless implies it is neutral, usually these ideas result in mass amounts of death.
