They were disrespecting Islam with something they called "satire". It doesn't matter how satirical it was meant to be, it was extremely offensive. and I'm not just saying this about Islam, I think people should respect any religion without having to be extremely disrespectful to them. Also, I'm not commending what happened in France, plus there's a theory that France planned this all along just to get a reaction from extremists, no matter how many lives it cost.
