I live in Canada, and I have relatively free healthcare. Yes, we have a 13% sales tax on most things in Ontario, but not all provinces are the same. If I get cancer, and need life saving procedures, payment will not be a thought in my mind. I pay for my healthcare the same way I pay for my police, and my roads, and my public parks. It's true, nothing is actually free, but that doesn't mean that the things you need to survive should cost you more than you can hope to make. These massive bills are just a way to keep you paying them for your entire life. I'm sorry for preferring to pay for my chemo when I buy shoes, or a car.
