There are times I seriously question the generation of kids we are currently raising 6 comments

I don't hate them, I don't understand why when I was 12 and brought home a report card with straight Cs, my mother started looking at me differently, stopped telling me she loves me, brushed me off when I wanted to hug her, made fun of me when I told her about the little things in school, told me to break it off with my boyfriend because she didn't approve but never consoled me after I did or why she never told me that it'd be okay when I was rejected from my dream med school, or why father never noticed any of this. That's when I started (a) loving inanimate objects like my books and my phone and my iPad and my computer because they seemed better, an option; (b) to look for boyfriend after boyfriend to depend on emotional dependency for; (c) stopped telling her what I did or didn't do at school because it didn't matter. The point is there are two sides to every story. If at a crucial time in their life, a child is not engaged with bya parent, they will grow up to dishout the same.

I promised to burn all my Statistics journals and reference and practise books after school, but I couldn't muster up the courage to, I ended up collecting all the books that the other students dumped after the last examination and donated them.
