Anime is incredibly diverse. You can go from giant robots to a love story. There are different sub-genres. Avoid the mainstream stuff and give it a chance. It's literally just Japanese cartoons for the most part.

Because gun violence in America is all this country cares about, even when studies have proven it's gone down in terms of numbers, it's just more publicized
