If you require someone to pay more for something than it's worth, you're going to get a lot less of it. If you require, for example, people to pay an arm and a leg to have their lawns mowed, more people will do it themselves or plant a lawn that needs less mowing.

To make things doubly stupid, one excuse is that you can't raise a family on minimum wage. Beside the fact that nobody owes others the "right" to raise a family or to have their own place on whatever job they might have, a lot of minimum wage workers are NOT raising a family, but are youths in their first jobs. So, in the name of doing good, we actually remove the first rung on the ladder of jobs/careers. But, at least we get to FEEL good about something, even though it's actually harming those we want to help. Plus, we get to feel good about helping while costing someone else the money.

REVOLUTION IS THE FINAL SOLUTION 23 comments

I agree with this but not for the reasons you might think. It's the left that presents crime one-way so that we focus on one murder out of 100 that's white on black, and not the five black on white or 94 black on black ones. Anybody who points that out is tagged as "racist."

Trump hasn't even been sworn in yet, and the "not my president" crybabies is arrayed against anything he might do--helpful or not--to improve the economy or tax situation. It's the same bunch who wanted Trump to swear that he'd accept the outcome of the election no matter what.

We're obligated to accept "refugees" who are almost uniformly young angry males, not families, and who uniformly want to impose their Sharia law in the west and not assimilate. Being against what the people in charge want puts you in the same situation as those who wanted to not go along with the Nazi movement which was fueled by Nazi propaganda.

So, yeah, this post has a great point, but pretty much the opposite one intended.

The rationale is not that people could poison others on purpose, but that the food might not be prepared in sanitary conditions, might not be kept warmed or refrigerated properly, etc. Our school couldn't prepare its own food for hot lunch because the countered were wood and not stainless steel. Also, there are lots of laws to protect union members...like how that girl was given a "Cease and Desist" order preventing her from braiding hair (for money) because she didn't have a cosmetologist license. Maybe you need training in the caustic chemicals that dye hair, but just braiding?

Think about those unintended consequences when you say, "There should be a law about..."

The US has an enormous overpopulation of Blacks in the prison system, unfortunately caused by their over representation in committing crimes. The US addicts them and other poor to "society owes me" mentality by giving out welfare with no conditions of having to look for work. If any of them try to break the mold by succeeding, they're criticized as "acting white" by the "Black Community." And the hand-wringing apologists make nothing but excuses, so additionally there's the soft bias of low expectations.

But luckily, soon all of us enlightened Europeans will get the same equality thanks to letting in "refugees" who are nearly all young, male and violent. Plus, they don't want to adapt to our culture, but reform it into the culture of the $#!+hole that they left.

If your FWB paid all your bills for, you wouldn't be their equal and therefore they wouldn't be your friends. Actually, they'd then be your parents.

It's too bad that we Feminists allowed the whole dang movement to be hijacked by the anti-male feminazis and the people who beleive that you're being discriminated against--as bad as any group in the history of the world--if you can't use any restroom you want.

However, if you have a fuel efficient vehicle that gets twice the gas mileage, but you drive double the miles, that makes you an Environmental Savior (despite using the same amount of fuel, and emitting possibly more pollution since the emissions standards are *per mile*).

This is actually true about so much. We don't know certain things and realize that fact, but there is a universe of stuff we don't know and don't realize that knowledge is even out there. It applies to both mankind and people individually. You see it all over the internet..."I don't like politician X because he's for discrimination and against helping the poor." In actuality, that pol;itician is against ILLEGAL immigrants and against confiscating money from some people to give to some others. Many parroting the original line don't even realize they're wrong/duped/whatever.

Then exercise your right to not go. That's not infringed on by a business owner giving a better deal to one group that actually benefits both groups (women come for the inexpensive drinks, men come for the women).

I wonder to what extent their habitat is disturbed by well meaning photographers and naturalists. Are prey scared off? Is the mating cycle interupted? At least we always mean well when poking around the habitats of these nearly extinct animals.

Meanwhile the kind, loyal and devoted boy who is available and nearby doesn't rate high enough on the cuteness scale so he is one of those you dismiss offhandedly. You carry that book to indicate two things:
-I'm open to conversation and this book can be the opening topic,
-Can't you see I'm here to read a book so don't interupt me you dolt.
Whether it's the first or second one depends on the cuteness of the boy who may interupt.

I recall reading the article in "The Wall Street Journal." US high school students did bring up the rear on math and geography, but were tops in confidence that they knew a lot.

"Shoot for the kneecap:" You're thinking of Michael Weston, or some other TV character who needs to not be protrayed as ruthless. The only time a kneecap shot is any good is with a shotgun. Even if you don't kill the guy, and even if your aim is off, you'll still remove a lot of flesh which will lead to death by blood loss.
.
Honestly, this is really naive. Someone's coming to do harm to you and a loved one (rape, murder, robbery plus killing you so there's no witness), and you're treating it like a mischeveous kid is caught spray painting someone's fence.

Yeah, in the US you can dial 911...would the assailants have let the car assengers do so without breaking the windows and dragging them out? When you have only seconds to react, the police are still miutes away.
.
Re: Shoot to disable one, the beat up the others: What if one of them has a gun? What if you delay, and the three others wrestle away the gun from you? It looks like he's got a passenger, so even if he doesn't care about himself, his wife/daughter could be beaten or raped. Also, when you're in an emergency situation, you can lose fine motor control, so you pretty much have to aim for "center of mass." If the gun comes out, you shoot to hit your assailant. If he/they aren't assailants, then don't take it out.
.
Finally, this is Brazil, but do you doubt that there are parts of the US that are worse than this video?
