First, screws have little sheer strength. It takes a surprisingly small amount of force applied to the side to break a screw. Putting a longer screw into the strike plate won't make anything stronger.
Second, long screws tend to twist the head off when driven into solid wood. If you want to try this pointless little tip, drill a pilot hole first.

I don't think I know anyone that really has "friends" once they get into their late 20's early 30's. That's usually the point people start going their own way and the friends you had during school start drifting away. Sure you hang out with people once in a great while, but it's not really the same as your teens and early 20's.
