This is just my guess, but I think that the whole "girls fainting at the sight of blood" thing might have been because girls wore corsets which were super constricting. So in a situation where one might see blood because someone else was badly injured, girls may have gasped but because they couldn't fully inflate their lungs, they just kind of passed out. At least, that's what I always imagined. It'd be cool to learn what first started it though. I mean, what if the whole "girls fainting at the sight of blood" thing was just a rumor that went wacko? Kind of like cooties, but on a bigger scale.

On a side note, I really loved the Magic Tree House books. It makes me kind of nostalgic and sad to think about them though because I remember really loving them, but often times when I go back and read books from my childhood I realize that they aren't actually all that good. So I just end up disappointed. Has anyone read the Sammy Keyes books though? Because I still love those! :D
