Construing the fact that a millennial supported a statement with facts and research as a sign of laziness. Good job, the exact definition of the irrational anti-millennial mindset.

Actually, as sm19 mentioned above, women are more likely than men to attempt suicide. It's just that men tend to favour methods of suicide that are less likely to be survivable.

I don't think people should have to apply to be able to have children but I do think that people expecting their first child should have to pass some sort of test or take some sort of (free) course to ensure they're capable of adequate parenting. Sort of like a driver's license, but for raising babies and kids.

They killed cancer using HIV, WTF! 21 comments
guest · 8 years ago
It's cool, they didn't actually infect her with HIV. Viruses have the "machinery" for inserting foreign DNA into specific target cells, and we know how to make viruses in the laboratory that replace the DNA that causes illness with synthetic DNA. What they did was take HIV viruses (which inject genetic information into cells in the immune system), empty them of all their harmful genes, and refill them with a gene that allows the immune system cells to kill the cancer cells. Then they removed some of the girls' immune system cells, exposed them to the emptied/refilled HIV so the cells could get the gene for fighting cancer, and returned those cells to her blood.
tldr the "HIV" virus involved was actually harmless, and furthermore it never entered her body.

O- is the universal donor blood type, every hospital has tons of it constantly available specifically FOR emergencies. And even if they somehow ran out, kids can't donate blood, they'd find an adult through the Red Cross or something.
Is this post adorable? Yes. Is it super fake? Also yes.

It's not insensitive, it's absolutely right. As a general rule, you should never "out" someone else as gay to anyone. The person deserves to be in control of who finds out and when, out of respect for their wishes and potentially their safety.

I love how some people claim if we don't have laws restricting people to the bathroom of their own sex then perverted men will creep on women in the bathroom, when men have been legally allowed to use the women's bathroom this whole damn time and it hasn't been an issue. Why would it suddenly be a problem now?
Oh wait, it's because this law isn't actually about bathroom safety and it's just a thinly veiled excuse to be shitty to trans people.

12-14 is the age when you're trying to pretend to be grown up but your sense of identity is poorly developed so you end up throwing yourself into weird groups or fandoms or trends to try to define yourself by those things, get embarrassingly obsessed with it, and then regret it later once you've figured yourself out a bit more

To be fair, we did successfully turn wolves into hunting companions and protectors. It's just that we also turned some of them into status symbols, and then we took things too far, and now we have dogs who keep losing their eyes when they get old.

Not really "superior" so much as more consistently accepted/valued. The celebrations devoted to marginalized groups exist to offset that imbalance.

Idk guydude, I'm not sure the "treat everyone equally" approach is a realistic option right now. Yes, it would certainly be ideal in the future, but right now there are still plenty of people discriminating against specific groups, which means for the time being we need to focus more on the needs and struggles of those marginalized groups until genuine equality is reached.
A sick person shouldn't go to the doctor once a year because that's how often a healthy person goes; they should go to the doctor frequently until they themselves are healthy, and THEN start going once a year.

I'm guessing one parent is white and the other parent is half white, half black. The twin on the left inherited the recessive genes for pale skin, straight hair, etc. from both parents, while the twin on the right inherited dominant genes for black, curly hair and darker skin from the biracial parent.
